$ ick , real name André Herrmann (born January 21, 1973 in Homburg ) is a German web video producer and author . He was best known through the YouTube series "Shore, Stein Papier", in which $ ick reports on his past as an addict. In October 2016, “Shore, Stein, Papier” was also published in book form.

Life

$ ick grew up in a family that was also shaped by the separation of his parents. When he was four years old, his parents divorced. When he was 13, he and his mother moved to Hanover. He started using cannabis at the same age. At 15 he took heroin for the first time and after a short time slipped into crime. On his 18th birthday, in January 1991, he was kicked out of his parents' house. From then on, $ ick lived in homelessness until his first imprisonment in November 1991. By August 2003 a total of four prison sentences and several unsuccessful attempts at therapy followed.

In 2005 $ ick started rapping. Together with his friend Ramon Diehl, the managing director of 16BARS, he founded the rap label "SIKKBOY ENTERTAINMENT". He also started to write down his stories. In the online blog "Diary of a Thug" he published a story from his life every Sunday until 2006.

By 2012, despite several voluntary detoxes, $ ick repeatedly fell back into heroin addiction. He has been on the methadone program since then and has stayed away from hard drugs. Via 16BARS, he got his own format in 2012 on the then newly founded YouTube channel “zqnce”. In the video-biography series “Shore, Stein, Papier”, $ ick tells of his life experiences on the street, with drugs and from prison. By October 2015, a total of 380 episodes and some specials had appeared. The videos were clicked a million times.

In October 2016 his biography "Shore, Stein, Papier" was published in book format by Piper Verlag. It bears the subtitle "My life between heroin & imprisonment!".

$ Ick has also been on the road with his live program since 2016 and holds readings throughout Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

At the same time he founded the non-profit association “Stigma e.” With the producer of “Shore, Stone, Paper” Paul Lücke, as well as a few others. V. "" Stigma e. V. “describes itself as an association for the disclosure and explanation of social stigmatization. From $ ick's biography, the association developed the concept of “learning from life experiences”, with which $ ick and Stigma did educational work on the connection between emotions and consumption in German schools.
