(1706) Dieckvoss is an asteroid of the main belt , which was discovered on October 5, 1931 by the German astronomer Karl Wilhelm Reinmuth , who worked at the observatory on the Königstuhl near Heidelberg .

The asteroid is named after the German astronomer Wilhelm Dieckvoss .
