Éramos pocos is a Spanish short film from 2005. Two years later it was nominated for the Best Short Film category at the Academy Awards.

One Sunday Julia leaves her husband Joaquín and her adult son Fernando, but not without first throwing the television and other things on the street. Since they cannot cope on their own, Joaquín and Fernando decide to bring Julia's mother from the old people's home. Lourdes cooks as requested and is happy to be home again. When she tries to kiss Joaquín after a long meal, he calls his wife the next day. So he learns that the woman at his home cannot be his mother-in-law and that they have fetched someone from the old people's home. At first he thinks about teaching his son about it, but then decides to simply continue to enjoy the cooking skills of the supposed mother-in-law.
