Île de l'Ouest ( German  for "West Island" ) is an island in the Kerguelen Archipelago in the southern Indian Ocean . Politically, it belongs to the French overseas territory Terres australes et antarctiques françaises (TAAF).

Île de l'Ouest is located in the far west of the archipelago and is separated from the Presqu'île des Lacs ("Peninsula of Lakes") on the west coast of Grande Terre , the main island of the archipelago, by the Détroit de la Marianne , which on its narrowest point in the north is only around 40 meters wide. Île de l'Ouest has a length of around 11.7 km, a width of up to 4.9 km and an area of ​​33 km². The highest point of the mountainous and rugged island is the Pic Philippe d'Orléans in the west with 617 m above sea level. The island is of volcanic origin and is uninhabited.
