The Öhlins Racing AB is a manufacturer of suspension components for motorcycles , automobiles , ATVs and snowmobiles .

The company, based in Upplands Väsby ( Sweden ), was founded in 1976 by Kenth Öhlin, a former motocross driver, as there were no suspension elements that met his requirements at the time. In 1987 the Yamaha Motor Company took over the majority of the shares, but the company continued to exist as an independent company. At the end of 2007, company founder Kenth Öhlin bought back the company shares from Yamaha.

In 2008, Öhlins opened its own German branch, the Öhlins Distribution & Test Center, in Meuspath at the Nürburgring .

Öhlins is the benchmark for product properties in the industry and is the original equipment manufacturer for Aprilia , BMW , Ducati , Moto Morini , Yamaha and the supplier of countless victorious motorcycle racing teams and the like. a. in the MotoGP class, the Superbike World Championship and various other national and international racing series. Since 2013, Öhlins has been offering chassis for mountain bikes in addition to the motorcycle and automobile division. Öhlins is working with the US bicycle manufacturer Specialized on this. In November 2018, the majority of Öhlins' shares were sold to Tenneco .
