history
Swarcz was founded in the 13th century as a settlement of miners near one of the most important silver mines in the Stiepanau district on the Zumberg. Probably the name of the village derives from Swarczawa, the former name of Svratka. In 1346 Swarcz was listed as part of the Zubstein estates. The existence of the mountain chapel of St. Trinity evidenced. In the 15th century Švařec came under the rule of Pernštejn . The Trinity Chapel in Swarcz was one of the main pilgrimage sites of the Pernstein manor in 1596. In 1773 the mining industry in Stiepanau went out .
After the abolition of patrimonial Svařec formed a municipality in the Neustadtl district from 1850 . 1949 Švařec was assigned to the Okres Bystřice nad Pernštejnem. 1961 was incorporated into Koroužné, at the same time the village came to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou . From 1980 to 1990 Švařec was connected to Štěpánov nad Svratkou together with Koroužné . In 1991 the place had 77 inhabitants. In 2001 the village consisted of 38 houses in which 70 people lived.
