On September 20, 1955, the company sports association Marquart became the 1st BC Beuel, which in November became the 27th club to join the North Rhine-Westphalia Badminton Association (BLV-NRW). The secondary school gym with two playing fields was available as a training and competition venue. The number of members was between thirty and fifty players in the first few years. From 1956, two teams took part in the championship games for the first time. The first team rose twice in a row and played from the 1958/59 season in the top division in BLV-NRW, the Oberliga West. In 1957 the club hosted a West German age group championship for the first time, in which Gertrud Maywald was able to achieve two first (singles + doubles) and one second place (mixed) in the Hans-Riegel-Halle . Since this year, the 1st BC Beuel provided a youth team for the first time, which took part in the competitions of the BLV-NRW. This was followed by systematic development work by the youth.

The 14-year-old Marieluise Wackerow was German youth champion in the girls' singles three times in a row in 1962 . In 1964 and 1965, the 1st BC Beuel was the most successful youth in the German Badminton Association in the individual competitions. Of ten possible German youth championships , he won eight in these years. From 1963 to 1965 the youth could achieve the national team championship three times. At that time, no youth team championship was held at the federal level. In 1964 the 1st team became national team champions.

In 1966 the youth of the club became German vice-team champions. This year this competition was held for the first time in the DBV . Four years later, in 1970, the city built the sports hall on Kolpingstrasse (today Ringstrasse) with six playing fields. This sports hall was now available to the 1st BC Beuel. This resulted in a membership increase to around 250 players. In 1971 the youth of the club was able to bring the title of German team champion to Beuel for the first time .

In the years 1972–1976, the 1st team in the newly created Bundesliga in the DBV managed to become German vice-team champions five times in a row. The German championships were held in 1974 in the Sportpark Nord , where members of the 1st BC Beuel were able to achieve four out of five championships .

In 1981 and 1982 the German team champion was 1. BC Beuel. In the following season, 1. BC Beuel withdrew his first team from the Bundesliga for economic reasons. After two years, in 1984, the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a new sports hall in Beuel took place.

In 1986 the new sports hall was inaugurated, which is now called Erwin-Kranz-Halle and has nine playing fields. The number of club members subsequently grew to over 500. The DJK Don Bosco Beuel joined the 1st BC Beuel, not least in order to build a badminton center in Beuel.

The West German Senior Championship was held in 1987 in the Erwin-Kranz-Halle. This year, the 1st BC Beuel held a tournament for the Goldi Cup sponsored by Commerzbank , which was reserved for the youngsters. From 1988 the 1st team played in the 2nd Bundesliga.

As part of the 2000 year celebration of the city of Bonn , an international match against Russia was hosted in the Erwin-Kranz-Halle in 1989. Two years later, the first team rose - for the first time for sporting reasons - in the Oberliga West. But already in the following season she succeeded in the immediate promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga. A clubhouse was inaugurated in 1992.

In 1993, the 1st team in the 2nd Bundesliga only occupied the penultimate place and could not hold the division. She was relegated to the newly created Regionalliga West. The student team achieved the West German runner-up and took third place in the German team championship. The 1. BC Beuel was given the task of managing the state support center in the Erwin-Kranz-Halle by the BLV-NRW.

At the end of the 1993/94 season, the 1st team only reached 2nd place in the Regionalliga West and thus barely missed promotion to the newly formed two-part 2nd Bundesliga. The 2nd team rose to the Oberliga West. This season the 1st BC Beuel competed with ten senior, two youth and two student teams. In March 1994 the club hosted the West German team championship for schoolchildren and youth in the Erwin-Kranz hall and was able to achieve 1st place among the schoolchildren and 2nd place among the youth. At the end of the season, the student team was able to bring the German team championship to Beuel.

On the occasion of the 40th anniversary in 1995, the 1st BC Beuel held the German Senior Championship in the Erwin-Kranz-Halle. At the beginning of 1996 the 1st BC Beuel took over the administration of the Erwin-Kranz-Halle. In April the association organized the international 6 nations youth tournament U16 with great success. In 1997, the 1st team rose to the 2nd Bundesliga. In order to get the financial basis for this, a cooperation with the BC Phoenix Bonn was agreed. The German team championship for youth and pupils was held in 1998 in the Erwin-Kranz-Halle.

In 1999 he was promoted to the 1st Bundesliga .

Five years later, in 2004, the 1st BC Beuel became German runner-up behind FC Langenfeld . On the 50th anniversary of the club in 2005, the 1st BC Beuel won the German team championship . In the European Cup , the team then finished second behind the Danish champions Kastrup Magleby. Petra Overzier won the bronze medal in the women's singles at the World Championships in Madrid in 2006 , after which she was voted NRW Sportswoman of the Year.

The 1st BC Beuel was the German runner-up in the 2007/08, 2009/10 and 2010/11 seasons. The first two times they lost to 1. BC Bischmisheim in the play-off final, while in 2011 they lost to SG Empor Brandenburg Gate in 1952 .
