Course of the game

NHL All-Stars 4-3 Toronto Maple Leafs

Even if it was only a "friendly game", both teams went to the point with the same commitment as in a final series. As expected, the well-rehearsed Maple Leafs came into play better and led 3-1 shortly after the start of the second period. In the middle third, Chicago's Bill Mosienko suffered a broken ankle after a body check by Jimmy Thomson , which forced him to take an eight-week break. Towards the end of the second period, the All-Stars team came together and scored the next goal. With two quick goals after the start of the final section, the All-Stars took the lead for the first time. The Leafs tried again and took their goalkeeper Turk Broda off the ice shortly before the end of the game in favor of an additional attacker, but without success. King Clancy , who directed the game as referee, had his hands full .
