The 187 Strassenbande is a hip-hop group from Hamburg . It consists of the rappers Bonez MC , Gzuz , LX , Maxwell and Sa4 as well as the sprayers Frost and Track and is produced by Jambeatz . They are under contract with their own label, which is also called 187 Strassenbande and whose distribution is handled by Universal Music .

history

The 187 Strassenbande was founded in 2006 by Bonez MC and the graffiti artist Frost. Her first rap lyrics to hit the public were called Deep Cover and were based on the track of the same name by Dr. Dre feat. Snoop Dogg from 1992. After two self-published samplers, Krampfhaft kriminell by Bonez MC was able to place an album in the German charts for the first time in 2012. In the same year, the Berlin Mosh36 left the gang. While Gzuz was in prison for three years, the rest of the crew played the "Free Gzuz Tour". In 2013, AchtVier also left the 187 street gang because there were some differences between him and the other members. In 2014 the collaboration album High & Hungrig by Gzuz and Bonez MC followed, which landed in the top 10 of the German charts for the first time. Her third sampler was released on January 30th, 2015 on the independent label High & Hungrig . This reached number 2 in the German album charts as well as number 18 in Switzerland and number 16 in Austria. In 2015 they released their album Fruit Stand by Maxwell and LX. Musically, the 187 street gang plays classic gangsta and street traps with G-funk and trap beats .

After the publication of sampler 3 at the beginning of 2015, a fully booked tour of Germany followed. With the release of the album Obststand on June 12, 2015, the Hamburg-based company entered the German album charts at number 5, number 36 in Austria and number 12 in the Swiss album charts. In addition, the 187 Strassenbande was the only German support act that accompanied the Wu-Tang Clan every time it appeared on its A-Better Tomorrow Germany tour in 2015. In the same year the solo album "Ebbe & Flut" by Gzuz came out and the accompanying tour took place, which for the first time extended to Austria and Switzerland . On May 27, 2016, the collaboration album High and Hungrig 2 by members Bonez MC and Gzuz was released . The album reached gold status . On September 9, 2016, the collaboration album by member Bonez MC and solo artist RAF Camora was released with the title Palmen aus Plastik . In October 2016, the members went on tour with the album. The album achieved platinum status in Germany and gold status in Switzerland . The singles “Palmen aus Plastik” and “Ohne mein Team” also received platinum status, and “Mörder” achieved gold status in Germany.

With Sampler 4 , which appeared on July 18, 2017 and reached number 1 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, the group set a new record in Germany with 22.9 million streams in the first week of sales on Spotify .

The number 187

187 is the number of the California Penal Code section that deals with murder . Youth and other gangs have picked up the number and are using it as a threat. After appearing in songs or films such as 187 - A deadly number , it is now used in youth language.

The group belongs to the genre gangsta rap . She works with musicians such as RAF Camora , Kontra K , Hanybal , Xatar , Azad , Olexesh , Nate57 , Capo , Ufo361 , Omik K. , Trettmann and Capital Bra .

The main producer and beat producer is mainly the producer Jambeatz who, compared to the rest of the members, is only active in the background and avoids the public. The 187 Strassenbande are known for taking over the promotion of their albums, tours and concerts themselves and for responding to the wishes of their fans. They use the online platforms Facebook and YouTube for interviews . But you also give interviews for print media. Music videos and video blogs and interviews are published on their YouTube channel at regular intervals.

Relationship with the judiciary

Some members of the group have had a considerable criminal record. Thus Gzuz already condemned 13 times for offenses. Other members also have criminal records, particularly for crimes of physical harm and drug abuse. On April 11, 2018, the police searched 20 objects belonging to the formation on suspicion of violations of the Narcotics and Weapons Act.
