  • The Abodrites allied with the Franks defeat the Saxons in the battle on the Sventana field near Bornhöved . This broke the resistance against Charlemagne's Frankish empire in northern Albingia. The Franks deported a significant number of Saxons to the south and left large parts of northern Albingia to the Abodrites. Charlemagne hopes that this settlement will protect the northern Franconian border against the Danes.
