Rodez Aveyron Football (or le RAF for short ) is a French football club from Rodez , the capital of the Aveyron department .
The club was founded in 1929/30 under the name Stade de Rodez Football ; after bankruptcy and re-establishment, it took its current name in 1993. The club colors are yellow and red; the league team plays at the Stade Paul-Lignon , which has a capacity of 5,955 seats.
League affiliation
From 1988 to 1993 Rodez had a professional status, was represented between 1988 and 1993 with a one-year break in the second-highest division , but never in Division 1 (since 2002 called Ligue 1 ). For the 2017/18 season, the men of the RAF were promoted to the third division . In the following year, they made the leap to Ligue 2 again.
The RAF women's team, on the other hand, has been consistently represented in the highest French division since 2010 .
