The AK-103 ( Russian Автомат Калашникова АК-103 , German transcription : Awtomat Kalaschnikowa AK-103 ) is a Russian assault rifle .
Overview
The AK-103 is a successor to the AK-74 . The weapon is essentially a larger calibrated version of the AK-74M that was developed in parallel with the AK-101 . It is designed for the caliber 7.62 × 39 mm (M43 cartridge) and combines the caliber of the AK-47 with developments from the AK-74 and AK-74M. The use of plastic components has reduced the overall weight. The AK-103 can be expanded with a variety of components such as laser, night vision device and rifle scope. In addition, a silencer and a GP-30 grenade launcher can be attached.
technology
Differences from the AKM are a 90-degree AK-74 style gas block and an AK-74 handguard, which is made of black plastic and is equipped with a heat shield.
Versions
The AK-104 is the compact version of the AK-103. It combines the properties of the older AKS-74U assault rifle with innovations of the AK-74M assault rifle, which results in greater precision.
