The ATSE Graz is an Austrian Mehrsparten- sports club from the district Eggenberg the Styrian capital Graz . The club was founded in 1912 as the "Arbeiter, Turn- und Sportverein Eggenberg" and currently has nine sections.
As workers' associations were banned during the National Socialist era , the ATSE had to disband. After the Second World War the re-establishment took place. The ATSE gained notoriety primarily through its (mostly outsourced) professional teams in the sports of basketball , ice hockey , handball and water polo , which won several championship titles in the 1970s and 1980s. The main focus of the ATSE, however, is on youth work and on a wide range of fit and gymnastics.
Information about the ice hockey team ATSE Graz can be found in the article ATSE Graz ice hockey section .
The association is led by the lawyer Kurt Fassl and chairman Thomas Zacharias.

Water polo
The water polo section was founded under Karl Dragosits in 1972, as the water polo section of the Grazer AK disbanded for financial reasons and the team was taken over by ATSE Graz. This season, after the Grazer AK had twice won the Austrian championship title with the same team, the club had to compete in the second division due to the re-establishment of the section. In the next few years, the Eggenberg team won the championship nine times, after which there were hardly any notable successes until 1988 due to squad changes. Only with the title of indoor champion in 1989 could the section celebrate another success. In 1993 ATSE Graz withdrew from water polo and dissolved the section. Some older players in the section founded the WBV Graz club .
