Abder Ramdane (born February 23, 1974 in Nîmes ) is a former French football player and now works as a football coach . Abder Ramdane has been under contract as assistant coach at the Belgian club Saint Gilloise since July 1, 2018.
Career as a player
In France, Abder Ramdane played for Olympique Nîmes for three years from 1994 , interrupted by his appearance in the first division for Le Havre AC in the 1996/97 season . From 1998 onwards, the attacking midfielder completed 21 Bundesliga games for Hansa Rostock before moving to Bundesliga club SC Freiburg in 1999 . There he played a total of 91 first and second division games until 2003 and scored ten goals. In the second division season 2002/03 he broke his kneecap in the penultimate game . Although he was under contract with the Breisgauer until 2005 , he was unable to recover from his injury and had to end his career without returning to the field.
His important goals in the fight for international places in 2001 and in his promotion to the Bundesliga in 2003 made him one of the favorites of the SC Freiburg fans, who often celebrated him with the speaking choir “Ramdane oho”.
Career as a (co-) trainer
In 2006 Ramdane completed his training as a coach while working as an assistant coach for the U19s at Borussia Mönchengladbach . In 2007 he moved to Panionios Athens as assistant coach from Ewald Lienen . From May 13, 2009 to June 17, 2010, the duo trained the team of TSV 1860 Munich and then moved to Olympiacos Piraeus .
Other stations in Ramdane's co-trainer work are DSC Arminia Bielefeld and Oțelul Galați .
In addition to his job, he completed training in the field of life kinetics and the Reiss Profile, which is a diagnostic tool for human motivation.
After Ewald Lienen switched from coaching to technical director at FC St. Pauli, Ramdane ended his contract, which had been running since December 16, 2014, on June 30, 2017.
Abder Ramdane has been under contract as assistant coach at the Belgian club Saint Gilloise since July 1, 2018.
