Abu Anas ash-Shami

Abu Anas asch-Shami ( Arabic أبو أنس الشامي, DMG Abū Anas aš-Šāmī ; * 1969 ; † September 17, 2004 in Baghdad ) was the spiritual leader of the Islamic terrorist organization at-Tawhīd wa al-Jihād and deputy of the top terrorist Abu Musab al -Zarqawi .

He died in a rocket attack on his car by the United States Armed Forces , which also killed other occupants. Asch-Shami is also said to have declared the killing of Muslims to be a goal, contrary to Islamic law , if they collaborated with what he saw as the "unbelieving occupiers " in Iraq .
