Acetylides
Acetylides are salts of alkynes having a terminal carbon -Kohlenstoff- triple bond . An acetylide ion is therefore a carbanion , which results from the deprotonation of an ethyne derivative. Because of the high pK s value from 25 are, however, quite to strong bases necessary (for example, butyl lithium , or amides such as sodium amide ). The simplest acetylide is the acetylide anion derived from ethyne. Acetylides are reactive species and are well suited for nucleophilic substitution reactions or additions . Heavy metal acetylides are explosive substances of great sensitivity when dry. Therefore z. B. no copper parts or metallic materials that contain more than 70% copper are used for the storage / transmission / measurement of acetylene-containing gases.
The name is derived from the common name of ethine, acetylene .
