Worship in Erfurt

Martyrdom of St. Adalar (1689) in St. Adolari, Tyrol

Before 1100 the bones are said to have been transferred to Erfurt . In any case, his worship in Erfurt begins at this time.

In the processional order of 1452, Adalar is referred to as bishop; that cannot be said for the twelfth century. Löther dates the source that mentions the two saints to the 13th century: “ Anno Domini MCLIIII corpora sanctorum episcoporum Adelarii et Eobani in Erfordia sepulta in monasterio beate Marie virginis inventa sunt et cum magna gloria translata. "

"In 1309 a knight Hermann, called Stranz, from Dollstedt donated the funds for an altar in the Marienkirche, super quo sanctorum martirum et pontificum, scilicet Adelarii et Eobani, reliquie sunt locate ."

The relics - sarcophagus of Saints Adolar and Eoban in Erfurt Cathedral is dated around 1350.
