Adelheid von Plassenberg

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Adelheid von Plassenberg († January 14, 1460 ) was abbess of the Himmelkron monastery from 1428 to 1460.

Adelheid came from the von Plassenberg family . Helmuth Meißner gives Anton von Plassenberg and Maria von Fullnbach as her parents. During her time as abbess, the Hussites devastated the area. In 1430 the monastery was also affected. Major damage is unlikely to have occurred, as no major reconstruction was reported and many works of art survived. The tomb of the abbess preserved in the monastery church has her family coat of arms as a central motif, a curved silver tip on a red background.
