Adonis Adelecino Jordan (born August 21, 1970 ) is a retired American basketball player .

Life

Jordan first grew up in New York and played as a student at Theodore Roosevelt High School in Yonkers . Then he moved with his mother to Los Angeles , California and attended Grover Cleveland High School, where he also played basketball. He went to the University of Kansas to study . The 1.80-meter-long construction player was a member of the university team from 1989 to 1993 and played 137 games during that time. In 1991 and 1993 he came with Kansas in the NCAA finals among the top four teams. In July 1991 he won the gold medal with the US student selection at the Summer Universiade in Sheffield, England . Jordan's most successful season in college in terms of points was 1991/92, when he averaged 12.8 points per game. With 568 templates he was on his departure in 1993 on the third place of the all-time best list of the University of Kansas. He was on the college team colleagues of players like Rex Walters , Greg Ostertag and Mark Randall .

The Seattle SuperSonics selected him as part of the NBA - Draft process in 1993, but Jordan failed the jump in Seattle squad 1993/94, in early November 1993, he was dropped from the squad. In the same month he received a contract with another NBA team, the Denver Nuggets , which ended ten days later. In January 1994, Denver provided him again with a ten-day contract. Jordan then continued his career abroad, beginning in the 1994 spring season in Australia . He scored an average of 19.9 points per game for the South East Melbourne Magic team and in the following years also made a name for himself as a basketball player with clubs in Israel , Venezuela , South Korea , Hong Kong and Belarus .

In January 1999, Jordan was offered a second NBA chance when he signed a contract with the Milwaukee Bucks . A month later he was removed from the squad, but briefly signed again in mid-March 1999. He was used by Milwaukee in a total of four NBA games, Jordan also played nine games for Rockford Lightning in the CBA in the 1998/99 season. In 1999/2000 Jordan was under contract with the Finnish first division club Espoon Honka and led the team as the best scorer (21.3 points / game).

In the 2000/2001 season he moved to Avitos Gießen in the basketball league  in Germany . In the 2000/2001 special edition of the professional magazine Basketball , Jordan was referred to as a "general on the field" because of his playmaking skills. With 18.9 points and 3.9 assists per match, he was the leader in both categories at Mittelhessen over the course of the season. He reached the Bundesliga semi-finals with Giessen, where it was over against Alba Berlin .

In the 2001/2002 season, Jordan played seven games for French second division team GET Vosges, and during the year he went to Pepinster in Belgium . In the 2003 spring season he was again active in Australia, first played for the Townsville Crocodiles before moving to the Victoria Giants during the game year within the league.

In 2005 he was the coach of the Topeka Tornado team in the US league All-American Professional Basketball League. In 2010 he moved to Australia, his wife's homeland, where he worked as a youth coach for the teams Nunawading Specters, Dandenong Rangers and Chelsea Gulls, where he was also a player.
