Ahmed Tomeh

Ahmed Salih Tomeh al-Chader (also Tumeh , Touma and Tohme , Arabic أحمد طعمة, DMG Aḥmad Ṭuʿma ; * 1965 in Deir ez-Zor , Deir ez-Zor governorate ) is a Syrian politician and trained dentist who was elected Prime Minister of a transitional government of the National Coalition for Opposition and Revolutionary Forces on September 14, 2013 . Since September 15, he has led a counter-government alongside President Bashar al-Assad and Prime Minister Wael al-Halki .

The Sunni Ahmed Tomeh is close to the Muslim Brotherhood . In 2005 he was Secretary General of the Damascus Declaration for Democratic Change initiative . Ahmed Tomeh al-Chader was arrested for his political involvement.

Tomeh, a self-proclaimed moderate Islamist , won 75 of the 97 votes at a meeting of the National Coalition in Turkish Istanbul and was like its predecessor Ghassane Hitto appointed to lead a cabinet of 13 ministers, which governs the zones in Syria that the under the control Free Syrian Army stand.
