Aisulu Almaty ( Kazakh Айсұлу Алматы ) is a Kazakhstan Women hockey team from Almaty . Alexander Malzew is the trainer and director of the Aisulu Almaty club. The team trains and plays their games in the Almaty Sports Palace. Club Aisulu Almaty is also planning to set up an ice hockey school and a second team.
history
From 2004 the Aisulu Almaty team took part in the IIHF European Women Champions Cup every year. In 2005 the name of the club DSHNK Almaty was changed to Aisulu Almaty. In 2008 the club took third place at the IIHF European Women Champions Cup 2007/08 . At the IIHF European Women Champions Cup 2010/11 , the final round was reached and fourth place.
The club has been participating in the EWHL since the 2015/16 season and is stationed in Sterzing and Zeltweg during the winter months . In October 2019, the club's first EWHL home game was played in Almaty. This was also the first EWHL game outside of Europe.
