Aksana Mjankowa ( Belarusian Аксана Мянькова , English transcription Aksana Miankova ; born March 28, 1982 in Krytschau ) is a Belarusian hammer thrower .

Career

At the European Athletics Championships in Munich in 2002 and the World Athletics Championships in 2003 in Paris / Saint-Denis, she failed in the qualification. In the 2006 season she increased her personal best by more than six and a half meters to the Belarusian record of 76.86 meters. On June 29, 2008 she improved this in Minsk to 77.32 m. Shortly afterwards, with the help of doping , she won the gold medal at the Olympic Games in Beijing with 76.34 m ahead of Yipsi Moreno (CUB) and Zhang Wenxiu (CHN).

Aksana Myankova is 1.86 m tall and weighs 85 kg.

In a subsequent test of the doping sample from 2008, Myankova tested positive for Turinabol and Oxandrolone in 2016 . She was disqualified by the IOC and her gold medal was revoked .
