The Aktieselskab ( A / S for short or ⅍ ) is the Danish legal form of the stock corporation .
A minimum capital of 500,000 DKK (equivalent to 67,169 euros, exchange rate as of August 28, 2020) is required to set up a Aktieselskab . After a foundation, the nominally registered capital may not fall below the limit of this amount. The organs of a Danish stock corporation are the board of directors ( Bestyrelse ), which consists of at least three members, and a so-called management board , consisting of one to three members.
The shareholders of a Danish stock corporation can exercise their influence at a general meeting . This elects the members of the Board of Management and an auditor .
Along with the Anpartsselskab (ApS), which is similar to the German GmbH , it is one of the most common types of company in Denmark.
