al-A'raf

al-Aʿrāf ( Arabic الأعراف 'The Heights') is the 7th sura of the Koran with 206 Āyāt . It was revealed in Mecca and includes the prophetic stories of Hūd , Lot , Shuʿayb , Noah , Salih and Mose , among others . Translated, the heading means "The Heights", which refers to the people in the hereafter who stand on them. According to Islamic tradition, “the heights” are those places that are in the middle between paradise and hell .

In sura 7:46, hijab denotes the partition between the inmates of hell and the inhabitants of paradise.
