The Alakır Çayı is a river to the Mediterranean in the southern Turkish province of Antalya .

The Alakır Çayı rises in the Bey Dağları , a mountain range of the Taurus Mountains west of the city of Antalya . The river flows mainly in a southerly direction through the district of Kumluca . The Alakır Dam , completed in 1971, was built for flood and irrigation purposes and dams the river to form a 3 km² reservoir. Below the dam, the river continues its course south. The Alakır Çayı reaches the coastal plain and makes a sharp curve to the east and then again to the south, before flowing southwest of Kumluca into the Bay of Finike . The Alakır Çayı has a length of 62 km. The mean discharge is 4.5 m³ / s.

The ancient city of Limyra is located about 3 km west of the river . An ancient bridge, the so-called " Bridge at Limyra ", used to lead over the Alakır Çayı. Today there are still bridge remains on the western bank of the river.
