Alan John Scarfe (born June 8, 1946 in London , England ) is a Canadian actor and series actor . His marriage to Sara Botsford resulted in his son, the actor Jonathan Scarfe . He has been married to actress Barbara March since 1979 , with whom he has a daughter.

Alan Scarfe began his acting career in the film business in 1963 with a role in the film The Bitter Ash . From the 1980s he was regularly seen in various television and cinema productions. In the 1990s and until today, he appeared primarily through guest appearances in a wide variety of television series. He took on a role in two episodes of Starship Enterprise: The Next Century , was in two episodes of New York Cops - NYPD Blue and starred in Andromeda .

In 1995 he took on a leading role in the television series Mysterious Island , which was canceled after a season with a total of 22 episodes. He got a second permanent role in 1998 for the series Seven Days - Das Tor zur Zeit , in which he played the role of Dr. Bradley Talmadge took over.

In 1985 Scarfe received a Genie Award for his work in the film The Bay Boy .
