Alanyaspor Kulübü or Alanyaspor for short is a Turkish football club from Alanya . Alanyaspor was founded in 1948; The Orange-Greens play their home games in Alanya Oba Stadı . The most successful time of the club had so far in the years 1989-1997, in which one played in the second highest Turkish division of today's TFF 1. Lig . With the exception of the years 2001-2004, the club was always represented in the third or second highest division. In the summer of 2016, the club achieved its first participation in the Süper Lig , the top Turkish league, and thus the greatest success in the club's history to date.

history

Foundation and the first years

The association was founded in 1948 by a group of young people under the leadership of the doctor Ali Nazım Köseoğlu as Alanya Kalespor . The first club colors were set to blue and white. The club was later renamed Kale Gençlikspor . Until 1966 the club was not a registered club, had no association membership and therefore played its games in a semi-official status. In the 1965/66 season the club acquired its association membership , became a registered club and took part in the Antalya Amatoer Kümesi (German Amateur League Antalya). In the course of the club registration, the club colors were also changed to red and white.

Systemic relegation to the TFF 3rd Lig

Since Turkish professional football was to undergo fundamental changes in the 2001/02 season, preparations for this change were made in the 2000/01 season. So far, professional football in Turkey has consisted of three leagues: the top division, the single-lane Türkiye 1. Futbol Ligi , the second-rate five-lane and two-stage Türkiye 2. Futbol Ligi and the third-rate, eight -lane Türkiye 3. Futbol Ligi . For the 2001/02 season, professional football was expanded to four professional leagues. While the Türkiye 1. Futbol Ligi remained unchanged, the Türkiye 2. Futbol Ligi was now in the second highest division, the Türkiye 2. Futbol Ligi Aategorisi (to German: 2. Football League Category A of Turkey ), and the third highest division , the Türkiye 2. Futbol Ligi Bategorisi (to German: 2. Football League Category B of Turkey ), divided. The subordinate Türkiye 3rd Futbol Ligi was henceforth the fourth highest division, the TFF 3rd Lig . Those teams that only occupied a middle place in the table in the third division 2000/01 season were assigned to the newly created fourth-highest Turkish division, the 3rd league, for the coming season. Alanyaspor, which had finished the league in 4th place in the table, had to relegate to the 3rd Lig due to the system.

Promotion to the TFF 1st Lig

In the third division 2013/14 season, the club qualified as runner-up for the playoff phase. In this the team reached the final and prevailed 4-3 on penalties against Hatayspor and returned to the TFF 1st Lig after 17 years of abstinence.

The club signed a name sponsorship agreement with the Albimo company . After that, in addition to jersey advertising, the club also had the company name in its club name for the duration of the contract and was called Albimo Alanyaspor . In the 2015/2016 season the club was called Multigroup Alanyaspor.

In the 2014/15 season , the club started with the promotion coach from last season, Mehmet Altıparmak . Under this head coach, the team started the season surprisingly well and for a long time occupied positions in the upper third of the table. After the team threatened to move away from the table positions towards the end of the first half of the season, the Altıparmak club replaced the experienced coach Hüseyin Kalpar . With Kalpar came the hoped-for turnaround and the club ended the regular league phase of the season in 3rd place in the table and qualified for the play-off phase of the league. In the play-offs, in which the third and final climber was played out by knockout system , the team failed in the semifinals at Samsunspor .

Promotion to the Süper Lig

Despite this successful first second division season after 13 years, there was no contract extension with Kalpar. Instead, the club has signed Erhan Altın, the last Samsunspor head coach, for the 2015/16 season . With this coach, the contract was terminated after five matchdays after the club was in the last non-relegation place with only one win, one draw and three defeats. Altın replaced the club leadership with his predecessor Hüseyin Kalpar. This coach quickly put the club back on the road to success. The team fought head-to-head with Kardemir Karabükspor until the last matchday for the 2nd place in the table and last direct promotion place. The club missed this on the last day of the match with a hard-fought 2-2 draw against Giresunspor . Instead, the league phase of the season ended in 3rd place in the table and thus qualification for the play-off phase was achieved. In the play-offs, in which the third and final climber was played by knockout system, the team reached the final and met Adana Demirspor . After the regular game ended in a 1: 1 draw, the team prevailed 4: 2 on penalties and thus achieved their first promotion to the Süper Lig . On April 28, 2019 a shuttle bus chartered by the club with 7 players of the A team crashed on the return journey of the league player against Kayserispor , with Papiss Cissé , Steven Caulker , Baiano , Djalma Campos , Welinton and Isaac Sackey injured and 20 times Czech National player Josef Šural was killed in the accident 5 kilometers south of Alanya .
