Albert Osterrieth

Albert Osterrieth (born September 23, 1865 in Strasbourg , † March 18, 1926 in Berlin ) was a German legal scholar , publicist and specialist in intellectual property and copyright protection.

Life

Albert Osterrieth was the son of the Tribunal Counselor Philippe Heinrich (Henri) Philipp Osterrieth (1806-1870) and Emilie Louise Caroline Therese Mathilde Rau (1827-1895). As a half-orphan, Osterrieth studied law in Heidelberg and Berlin from 1884 , became a legal trainee in Baden in 1888 and trainee lawyer in Baden in 1892. He then traveled to Paris and London from 1892 to 1893 . In 1895 he left the Baden civil service and moved to Berlin. Since then he has been active in international club life mainly for the expansion of international copyright law and industrial property protection. Albert Osterrieth was u. a. Secretary General of the German Association for the Protection of Industrial Property and Copyright.

At the age of 30, Osterrieth married Julie Marie Hélène Hausrath (1873–1945), 8 years his junior, in Karlsruhe on December 2, 1895, and had four children with her.
