Albert Georg Justus Maria von Bruchhausen (born April 21, 1859 in Oelde , North Rhine-Westphalia , † April 23, 1948 in Buchheim , Baden-Württemberg ) was a Prussian politician and mayor of Trier and Recklinghausen .

family

He was the son of the royal Prussian judiciary Franz von Bruchhausen (1817–1897) and his second wife Albertine Bachofen von Echt (1820–1881).

Bruchhausen married on May 16, 1889 in Essen Elisabeth Veltman (born June 13, 1861 in Rogasen , district Obernigk , province of Posen , † December 1, 1933 in Trier), the daughter of the district judge Bernard Veltman and Elisabeth Boese .

Life

Bruchhausen was a court assessor a. D. From 1899 to 1901 he was First Mayor , from 1901 to 1904 Lord Mayor of the city of Recklinghausen.

Then he was Lord Mayor of Trier until 1927. In 1927 he was made an honorary citizen of Trier “ for 23 years of service to the social, economic and cultural interests of the city and the enlargement of the urban area ” and the Ritterstrasse was renamed Bruchhausenstrasse.

Bruchhausen was also a member of the Prussian manor house .

In the years from 1910 to 1934 he was the first chairman of the " Association of German Natural Wine Auctioneers " founded in 1910 (today: Association of German Predicate and Quality Wineries ).
