Alexander Berner

Alexander Berner (* 1966 in Munich ) is a German film editor .

Life

Before entering the film business, he trained as a graphic designer in London.

With Boran from 2001, Alexander Berner made his debut as a feature film director; in 1989 he had directed a documentary entitled Inheritance . Since the early 1990s he has been responsible for editing more than two dozen film projects .

In 1996, 2007, 2013 and 2016, Berner was awarded the German Film Prize for best editing. 2013 with the Saturn. 2018 with the Grimme Prize.

In 2003, Berner was one of the founding members of the German Film Academy .

Alexander Berner has been a member of the board of the Bundesverband Filmschnitt Editor e. V. (BFS) .
