Alfonso Sánchez Peña

Alfonso Sánchez Peña CMF (born March 6, 1913 in Bogotá , † July 11, 1997 ) was a Roman Catholic religious and prelate of Alto Sinú .

Life

Alfonso Sánchez Peña joined the Order of the Claretians and was ordained a priest on December 5, 1937 . Paul VI appointed him on July 28, 1969 prelate of Alto Sinú and titular bishop of Castro di Sardegna .

The Apostolic Nuncio in Colombia , Angelo Palmas , donated him episcopal ordination on October 5th of the same year ; Co-consecrators were Pedro Grau y Arola CMF, Vicar Apostolic of Quibdó , and Jesús Serrano Pastor CMF, Vicar Apostolic of Darién .

Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation on February 16, 1989.
