Alfred A. Cohn
Alfred A. Cohn (born March 26, 1880 in Freeport , Illinois , USA , † February 3, 1951 in Los Angeles ) was an American screenwriter of comedies. He also wrote short stories that were made into films.
biography
Alfred A. Cohn moved to Cleveland and worked for a newspaper there. After his marriage, he moved to Galveston , Texas to run a newspaper publisher. However, Cohn did not put down roots and moved on to Arizona . There he worked as a secretary to the Constituent Assembly in 1912 when Arizona became a US state.
After that, Cohn moved to Hollywood, where he soon began writing screenplays. In all of his creative time it should have been over 100. He worked for the Los Angeles Port Authority and was a commissioner with the Los Angeles Police Department. He continued to write short stories, but no longer scripts.
Alfred A. Cohn and his wife had three children, two daughters and a son. He died of heart failure on February 3, 1951.

Alfred A. Cohn was nominated for an Oscar for best screenplay in 1929 for his work on Der Jazzsänger .
