Alfred Drabits (born April 6, 1959 in Traisen ) is a former Austrian football player . Alfred Drabits was one of the most tech-savvy players of his generation. After finishing his active career, he began a career as a football coach .

Football career

Drabit's youth club was the WSV Traisen . At the age of only 16 he made his debut in the combat team of the then Lower Austria state league club. In the 1977/78 season he was the most successful goalscorer in the Lower Austrian regional league. In 1978 the coach Erich Hof brought him to the Vienna Sports Club . In Vienna he initially worked as a postman for six months before he dedicated himself to football as a full professional. In 1981 he moved to Wiener Austria , where he also celebrated his greatest national and international successes. After an Achilles tendon tear , he had to end his professional career at Vienna in 1991 .

Coaching career

Alfred Drabits has been working as an assistant trainer at the Frank Stronach Football Junior Academy Hollabrunn since 2006 . He has been on early retirement since a stroke in 2010.
