Alfred Fister

Alfred Fister (born November 3, 1928 in Klagenfurt , † October 24, 2014 in Wolfsberg ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and special school director. Fister was a member of the Austrian National Council from 1979 to 1990 .

Life

After compulsory school, Fister attended the teacher training college in Klagenfurt and graduated from high school in 1949. He then completed an apprenticeship as a special school and language therapy teacher in Vienna. Fister worked from 1949 to 1952 as an elementary school teacher in Wolfsberg and was then from 1952 to 1969 class teacher for affiliated special school classes. In 1969 he became head of a special center school. Fister was appointed high school supervisor.

Fister was involved in local politics and was a local councilor in Wolfsberg from 1954 and a member of the city council from 1960 to 1979. Between 1971 and 1973 he held the office of third vice mayor, after which he was first vice mayor of the city of Wolfsberg between 1973 and 1979. In addition, Fister held the function of parliamentary group chairman of the socialist parliamentary group in the college of the state school council of Carinthia, was city party chairman of the SPÖ Wolfsberg and chairman of the Wolfsberg district association. He also held functions in the regional school policy working group Carinthia and in the district committee of the Socialist Teachers' Association in Austria and represented the SPÖ from December 11, 1979 to November 4, 1990 in the National Council.
