At the beginning of the 2006/07 season he moved to 1. FC Saarbrücken , where he initially acted as assistant coach of the first team, later as coach of the U-23s and finally as head coach of the first team. After Kaminiski left FCS in 2008, he continued to work in Saarland : initially as the sporting director at SV 07 Elversberg , two years later at FC 08 Homburg in a double function as sporting director and trainer. In the 2012/13 season Kaminski worked at VfR Aalen in the field of scouting and analytics. After head coach Horst Steffen was released on November 4, 2015, Kaminski took over the professional kickers team as interim coach until the end of the week. Then Tomislav Stipić was head coach.

After relegation to the Southwest Regional Football League and Stipić's leave of absence in the summer of 2016, Kaminski was appointed the new head coach. After Michael Zeyer was suspended as the sports director of the Stuttgarter Kickers on October 20, 2016, Kaminski stayed in office for four days before the club parted with him.
