Alfred Noss

Alfred Noss (born September 1, 1855 in Cologne , † February 15, 1947 in Teisendorf , Upper Bavaria ) was a German coin collector and numismatist .

He dealt mainly with the coinage of the late Middle Ages and the early modern period on the Lower and Middle Rhine . He lived in Munich and was chairman of the Bavarian Numismatic Society from 1921 until his death . In 1919 he was made an honorary doctorate from the University of Bonn . His Palatinate coin collection was auctioned in 1956 and 1957.
