Alfred Robert Anton von Conrad (born May 13, 1852 on the Fronza manor, Fronza near Marienwerder , West Prussia ; † January 22, 1914 in Ospedaletti near Sanremo ) was a German administrative lawyer and politician in the Kingdom of Prussia .

origin

His parents were Herrmann Conrad (* August 14, 1814 - June 19, 1885) and his wife Maria Wernich (* August 25, 1820 - January 13, 1890). His father was the master of Fronza and Lalkau. On January 27, 1904, the family received hereditary nobility through his older brother, the secret government advisor Adalbert Friedrich Wilhelm (born August 3, 1846).

Life

Conrad studied law at the Georg-August University in Göttingen . In 1872 he became a member of the Corps Saxonia Göttingen . In 1884 he became district administrator of the Flatow district , in 1894 lecturer in the Prussian Ministry of Agriculture, in 1899 district president in the district of Bromberg . From 1901 he was head of the Reich Chancellery and from 1904 Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Agriculture. In 1910 he was appointed President of the Province of Brandenburg .

From 1888 to 1899 he was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives , in which he represented the constituency of Marienwerder 8 ( Flatow - Deutsch Krone ).
