Alma Macrorie

Alma Macrorie (born December 7, 1904 in Davenport , Iowa as Alma Ruth Macrorie , † June 28, 1970 in Woodland Hills , Los Angeles , California ) was an American film editor .

Life

Macrorie began her career as an assistant editor in the 1930s. From 1937 she worked as an independent editor and was responsible for the film editing of more than 50 productions up to and including 1968 . She worked several times with the director George Seaton . Their last joint production was Wedding Night Before Witnesses in 1968. In the 1940s and 1950s she was also involved in several films directed by Mitchell Leisen .

In 1955 she was nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Editing for her work on The Bridges of Toko-Ri .
