Alpine Electronics ( Japanese ア ル パ イ ン 株式会社 , Arupain Kabushiki kaisha ) is a Japanese manufacturer of car radios , speakers , amplifiers and navigation systems . In 2006, Alpine made 76% of its sales with OEM solutions, mainly for premium car brands. Alpine is headquartered in Iwaki .
Alpine Electronics was founded in 1967 as a joint venture between Alps and Motorola under the name Alps-Motorola. The Motorola shares were taken over by Alps in 1978 and the company was renamed Alpine Electronics. Alpine has been part of the Alps group ever since .
