Abbot Amand Oppitz OSB (born February 6, 1869 - November 1, 1947 ) was an Austrian Benedictine . From 1913 to 1930 he was abbot of the Vienna Schottenstift .

Life

Oppitz entered the novitiate of the Schottenstift on September 14, 1887 and made solemn profession on September 27, 1891 . He was ordained a priest on July 24, 1892 . He worked from 1894 to 1898 as an assistant chaplain in Pulkau and then returned to the monastery as curate and catechist . On October 8th, Amand Oppitz was elected abbot of the Vienna Schottenstift and headed the monastery until 1930. From 1921 to 1930 he was Abbot President of the Austrian Benedictine Congregation .
