history

Amblin Partners was founded on December 16, 2015 by Steven Spielberg , Jeff Skoll from Participant Media , Anil Ambani from Reliance, Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group and Darren Throop from Entertainment One . The company focuses primarily on the production and distribution of films with DreamWorks Pictures, Amblin Entertainment and Participant participation.

On the day it was founded, Amblin Partners announced that it has entered into a five-year distribution agreement with Universal Pictures .

On October 9, 2016, Amblin Partners signed an agreement with Alibaba Pictures , in which Alibaba acquired a minority stake in the company and, in addition to co-financing Amblin and Amblin Partners, will also take over marketing, sales support and merchandising for films from Amblin Partners in China.

On February 15, 2017, Universal acquired a minority stake in Amblin Partners.
