The Plessa Office is an office in Brandenburg formed in 1992 , in which initially seven municipalities in the former districts of Bad Liebenwerda and Finsterwalde (from 1993 district of Elbe-Elster , Brandenburg) merged to form an administrative association. The official seat is in the municipality of Plessa . Due to the amalgamation and incorporation of parishes, the office currently consists of four parishes.
Geographical location
The Plessa office is located in the southern part of the Elbe-Elster district in Brandenburg (Germany). It borders in the north on the Elsterland office , in the north-east on the town Finsterwalde , in the east on the town Lauchhammer ( district Oberspreewald-Lausitz ) in the east, in the southeast on the Ortrand office , in the south on the Schradenland office and in the west on the Unofficial cities of Elsterwerda and Bad Liebenwerda .
Municipalities and districts
The Plessa Office currently manages four municipalities:
- Gorden-Staupitz with the districts Gorden and Staupitz
- Hohenleipisch with the district of Dreska
- Plessa with the districts of Döllingen and Kahla
- Schraden
history
On July 13, 1992, the Minister of the Interior of Brandenburg gave his consent to the formation of the Plessa Office. July 21, 1992 was set as the date of establishment of the office. The office was located in the municipality of Plessa and initially consisted of seven municipalities in the former districts of Bad Liebenwerda and Finsterwalde :
- Dollingen
- Gorden
- Hohenleipisch
- Kahla
- Plessa
- Schraden
- Staupitz
As of December 31, 2001, the communities of Döllingen and Kahla were incorporated into the community of Plessa. On December 31, 2001, the communities of Gorden and Staupitz merged to form the new community of Gorden-Staupitz.

On July 7th, 2016, Schrey was elected Office Director for eight years by the Office Committee. He took office on January 1, 2017.
