The Kempten District Court is a court of ordinary jurisdiction and one of 73 district courts in Bavaria . Joachim Redetzki is the director of the local court. It has its seat in the rooms of the prince abbot's residence in Kempten (Allgäu) .

history

In 1802 electoral Bavarian troops carried out the mediatization of the imperial city and the secularization of the Princely Monastery of Kempten . In 1804, a regional court of the older order was established in Kempten. The Kempten district office took over the administrative tasks from the regional court when administration and jurisdiction were separated in 1862. When the Courts Constitution Act came into force on October 1, 1879, a district court was formed in Kempten, the district of which was identical to the previous district court district of Kempten. The district court is responsible for the city of Kempten (Allgäu) and the former district of Kempten (Allgäu) . The former Sonthofen branch has been an independent district court since February 3, 2008 .

The Kempten District Court is subordinate to the Kempten District Court , which emerged from the Kempten District Court founded in 1857 .
