Amy Sue Rosen
Amy Sue Rosen (born November 29, 1955 in Baltimore , † February 19, 2003 in New York City ) was an American dancer and choreographer.
Rosen took ballet lessons with Bill Evans at Arizona State University and the Laban / Bartenieff Institute of Movement Studies in New York. In 1983 she met her future husband, the painter and sculptor Derek Bernstein , with whom she subsequently worked. Pieces such as Object Lesson (1990), One Magnificent Gesture (1999) and Abandoning Hope (2001) were created. Her choreographies always had autobiographical references. In her last works (including Break / Broke ) she also addressed her cancer, which she succumbed to in 2003 at the age of 47.
