An Kum-ae (born June 3, 1980 in Pyongyang , North Korea ) is a North Korean judoka .

An Kum-ae (also spelled: An Kum Ae) lives in Pyongyang , North Korea . At the 2005 World Championships she won the bronze medal in the half-light weight (52 kg) against Lyudmila Bogdanova from Russia. In 2006 she finished 2nd at the Asian Games in Mongolia against Mönchbaataryn Bundmaa from Mongolia. At the 2007 World Cup she took 3rd place. In 2008 she won the silver medal against Xian Dongmei from the People's Republic of China in the final of the Olympic Games in Beijing .

They won at the Olympic Games in London the first gold medal of these Olympics in 2012. North Korea against Yanet Bermoy of Cuba . This was the 11th gold medal in history for North Korea at the Olympic Games, see list of Olympic medal winners from North Korea .
