Anastasia Biefang

Anastasia Biefang (born June 13, 1974 in Krefeld ) is a lieutenant colonel , qualified pedagogue ( univ. ) And commander of the information technology battalion 381 (ITBtl 381) in Storkow . She is the first female battalion commander with a trans * background in the Bundeswehr .

Biefang was drafted into the Bundeswehr for basic military service in July 1994 . She then signed on as a soldier in time , graduated from officer training , studied at a Bundeswehr University in the degree program Pedagogy and was later in the appointment of a professional soldier called. Biefang completed his training for officers in the general staff service at the command academy of the Bundeswehr in Hamburg . In 2011 she was a major i. On October 18, 2017, she took command of the Information Technology Battalion 381 from her predecessor Lieutenant Colonel Thorsten Niemann. From August 2018 to March 2019, Biefang once again took part in an overseas assignment in Afghanistan . She is a member of the Air Force uniform wearer .

Biefang is a member of QueerBw . There she takes on the functions of deputy chairwoman and the contact person for trans * and inter * people. She is also involved in the “German Society for Transidentity and Intersexuality”.

Private

Biefang was assigned to the male sex at birth and had the first name Marc . Her father was an Air Force officer and weapons systems officer , her mother a clerk. Biefang grew up in a village in North Rhine-Westphalia and lived in the United States for five years when she was young . There she already felt "different" and describes herself as bisexual today . As a biological man, she was married to a woman. The marriage broke up partly because of her transsexuality. Biefang came out in 2015 and had gender reassignment measures thereafter . She is married again to a woman and lives in Berlin .

The Berlin photographer and documentary filmmaker Thomas Ladenburger shot the documentary " Ich bin Anastasia " about Biefang , which was released in 2019.
