Anastassija Nikolajewna Sedowa ( Russian Анастасия Николаевна Седова ; born February 4, 1995 in Sarov ) is a Russian cross-country skier .

Career

Sedowa ran in December 2011 in Krasnogorsk for the first time in the Eastern Europe Cup . She finished 24th in the sprint. At the 2012 Winter Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck , she won the silver medal with the mixed relay and the gold medal over 5 km classic. She also achieved 15th place in the sprint. In December 2012, she achieved her first podium finish in the Eastern Europe Cup with second place in Krasnogorsk over 10 km freestyle. The following year she won the bronze medal in the 5 km freestyle and the silver medal with the relay at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2013 in Liberec . She finished fourth in the skiathlon . At the European Olympic Winter Youth Festival 2013 in Predeal she won the silver medal over 7.5 km freestyle and the gold medal with the mixed relay and over 5 km classic. In 2014 she was also able to win medals at junior championships. At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2014 in Fiemme Valley , she won the bronze medal over 5 km classic and the silver medal with the relay. In March 2014 she became Russian junior champion over 5 km classic and 10 km freestyle.

At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2015 in Almaty , Sedowa took fifth place in the skiathlon. With the relay and over 5 km freestyle, she won the silver medal. In March 2015 she was again Russian junior champion over 5 km and 10 km. She also won the skiathlon. In the 2015/16 season she came in second place in the skiathlon in the Eastern Europe Cup in Rybinsk . In February 2016 she won bronze over 10 km freestyle and gold over 10 km classic at the U23 World Ski Championships 2016 in Rasnov . The following month she won the Russian championships in skiathlon. At the beginning of the 2016/17 season, she made her debut in Ruka in the cross-country skiing world cup . With the 19th place over 10 km she got her first world cup points. In the following World Cup mini tour in Lillehammer , she finished 25th. In February 2017 she achieved her first top ten placement in the World Cup in Otepää with seventh place over 10 km classic. At the season highlight of the Nordic World Ski Championships 2017 in Lahti , she came in 11th place over 10 km classic, ninth place in the skiathlon and fifth place with the relay. At the end of the season she came in 26th place at the World Cup final in Québec and reached 40th place in the overall World Cup, 29th place in the Distance World Cup and fifth place in the U23 World Cup. At the beginning of April 2017 she became Russian champion in the 30 km mass start race and second in the 10 km freestyle in Khanty-Mansiysk . At the beginning of the 2017/18 season, she took 18th place in the Ruka Triple and with three top ten placements, she finished seventh in the Tour de Ski 2017/18 . At the U23 World Championships in Goms in 2018 , she won the gold medal in skiathlon. At the season highlight, the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , she won the bronze medal with the relay. At the end of the season she came in 22nd place at the World Cup finals in Falun and finally took 16th place in the overall World Cup, 14th place in the Distance World Cup and second place in the U23 World Cup. End of March 2018, she was in Syktyvkar Russian champion in skiathlon.

After fifth place over 15 km freestyle in Beitostølen and eighth place over 10 km freestyle in Davos at the beginning of the 2018/19 season, Sedowa took fourth place in the Tour de Ski 2018/19 with four third places, fourth place in the tour standings. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2019 in Seefeld in Tirol , she won the bronze medal with the relay. In the individual races she came in 14th place in the 30 km mass start race, ninth place in the skiathlon and sixth place over 10 km classic. At the World Cup finals in Québec , she finished 16th and finally reached 12th place in the overall World Cup and ninth place in the Distance World Cup.
