Andor Szanyi

Andor Szanyi (born August 1, 1964 in Mezőcsát ) is a former Hungarian weightlifter .

Career

Szanyi won the gold medal in the class up to 100 kg at the 1985 World Championships with 415.0 kg. He won bronze at the 1986 and 1987 World Championships. In 1988 he was first runner- up at the Olympic Games . But after he was positive for stanozolol in the doping control , he was banned for two years and the silver medal was revoked . He took part in the 1992 Olympic Games without success.
