The "Andrea Kutsch Academy" received its approval as a university of equinology on September 7, 2009. The word creation is derived from the components equus (Latin for horse) and the Greek word lógos (see also: -logie ). Equinology is therefore the science and teaching of the horse.

In December 2010 it was announced that the academy in Bad Saarow was closed because no students were enrolled. In a press release from February 2011, however, the inaccuracy of these reports was pointed out: According to this press release, Andrea Kutsch decided not to offer the bachelor's degree recognized by the accreditation commission in her own university of applied sciences, but in an existing university. It therefore let the original recognition as a private technical college expire. Unaffected by this, the Andrea Kutsch Academy continues to run unchanged with its program.

Since 2010, the Andrea Kutsch Academy has been offering training to become an Equine Coach worldwide, based on the scientifically based training method EBEC (Evidence Based Equine Communication) developed by Andrea Kutsch himself.
