Andreas Ludwig Christoph Kettembeil (born September 5, 1768 in Heringen , † February 16, 1840 in Nordhausen ) was a German lawyer and editor .

Life

Andreas Ludwig Christoph Kettembeil was born as the son of Heinrich Gotthard August Kettembeil (1735–1796), the lawyer and mayor of Heringen at the time. His brother was Christian Gotthard Kettembeil , who as a merchant and royal-Prussian special stamp duty - Bookkeeper worked and later in Nordhausen ran a theater and restaurant.

Andreas Ludwig Christoph Kettembeil started high school in Nordhausen in 1780 at the age of 12 and finished it in 1787. He then attended the University of Jena to study law there. In 1789 he continued his studies at the University of Leipzig until 1790 .

In 1790 he was examined as a Saxon lawyer and, after passing the exam, went back to Nordhausen to settle down as a lawyer. After a few years in this activity, he was employed as consistorial secretary in the then free imperial city of Nordhausen. In 1802 Nordhausen was incorporated into the Kingdom of Prussia , which led to Andreas Ludwig Christoph Kettembeil being employed as a second city ​​judge . In 1807 Nordhausen came to the Kingdom of Westphalia and this renewed change of state meant that he was the second Westphalian tribunal judge. In 1815 Nordhausen again belonged to Prussia and he became the third assessor of the court there, but in the same year asked for his release for health reasons.

Works

Andreas Ludwig Christoph Kettembeil published the only newspaper in the city and the district, the " Nordhäusische Wochenliche Nachrichtenblatt ", which published notices, sales notices, public summons, deaths, warning notices and articles on burglary and theft.
